About

About ‘Liveable Life’:

thinking about what are the conditions for Liveable Life for all terrestrials, and what reparative CLIMATE Action is urgently needed for these conditions to flourish. Earth Sciences focus on the material conditions of your environment, the ‘Liveable Life’ perspective expands your viewpoint, frees your voice, and engages you in the unfolding drama: giving shape to things that don’t yet exist.

About Artivism (artist + activism):

using artistic work, by any available medium – pen, brush, lens, voice, body, and the imagination – to inspire, and mobilise you to CLIMATE Action. This NOTEBOOK is your writing about this: to make an observation is to have an obligation.

One-Line Bio:

The WORDSTALL posts today are written by Max Mackay-James, an older man (b.1951) living in the south-west of England.

Blog Biography:

WORDSTALL has a long 21st century history. The blog originally explored conditions of loss, trauma, and ‘Liveable Life’ alienation on personal rather than planetary terms, and only from a human perspective. A Manifesto Page was added in 2011 to summarise an aesthetic for Liveable Life then.

The original co-authors were Max Mackay-James and Alan Kirby.

..and they were genuinely surprised – “Hey! What are you doing here?” – if anybody happened to stop and read their experimental posts.

Before WORDSTALL there was walkingtalkingwriting, which Alan and Max began in 1996, walking on Dartmoor with notebooks, pens and imagination. Posts for a blog began being written in September 2006.
